Welcome to Golden

As a former Gold Rush town, Golden, Colorado is full of history and fun
Located at the foothills of the sprawling Rocky Mountains is Golden, Colorado, a small town known for its old western roots and atmosphere. The area is steeped in history and tradition, with the area featuring many museums, guided tours, and events that celebrate the community’s heritage. However, Golden is more than its history — the community has a modern edge to it with its walkable downtown complete with fun restaurants, boutiques, and bars.
Life in Golden is immersed in nature. Enjoy a dining experience inspired by the iconic Gold Rush at Miners Saloon, a watering hole designed with a Wild West theme. Of course, no visit to Golden can be complete without a staycation at The Old Golden Hotel, an award-winning hotel located in the heart of the neighborhood. Its locale overlooks Clear Creek and provides a first-hand glimpse of the Rocky Mountains, making it the perfect place to order room service and take in the views.
Golden offers plenty of things to do. Golden Gate Canyon State Park boasts a plethora of outdoor recreational activities, including camping, hiking, fishing, and picnicking, while Lookout Mountain is a popular spot along the Front Range of the Rocky Mountain for its birds-eye view of Golden and the natural beauty surrounding the town. History enthusiasts enjoy the Wild West Talking Tour, which takes guests throughout Golden as they learn about the area’s role in the Gold Rush. This two-hour tour winds through important landmarks, including capital buildings, bowling saloons, and more. Another great spot to learn about Golden’s history is the Colorado Railroad Museum.
